USA TODAY Promotes BMX in the Olympics!

USA TODAY newspaper featured a road to the Olympics article about BMX . The article written by Laura Bly and titled: "BMX stars and fans travel road through San Diego" is a travel feature.

Yep, BMX has made the Olympic big time, as now USA TODAY has officially made the sport of Bicycle Motocross a travel destination. Read the article at the link below and maybe you can make plans to visit the Olympic trials or another ABA BMX National.

Olympic BMX Trials In Chula Vista, CA June 14, 2008

TICKETS NOW AVAILABLE FOR 2008 U.S. OLYMPIC TEAM TRIALS – CYCLING (BMX)

Tickets for the 2008 U.S. Olympic Team Trials for BMX Cycling are now available for purchase by the general public, USA Cycling and the U.S. Olympic Committee announced today.

Scheduled for June 14, The Olympic Team Trials will feature the top eight men’s Olympic hopefuls in the sport of BMX with the winner earning an automatic nomination to the squad that will represent the U.S. in Beijing this August.

Spectators can purchase tickets online at www.usolympicshops.com, charge-by-phone at 619-482-6120, or in person at the U.S. Olympic Shop at the U.S. Olympic Training Center in Chula Vista, Calif.

Adult tickets are $10.00, while children’s and senior citizen tickets are $5.00.

Chesapeake BMX will be running a PRO-AM race on Memorial Day Monday May 26th with a guaranteed purse of $500.00

ABA BMX racer Matt Chism recently appeared in a television commercial for Gatorade. The spot was filmed in NAPA, California and is just another sighting of the growth of BMX!
